From
June 9 till 12, more than 20 thousand bikers (without counting those stayed outside), coming from all Europe
have converged to
Port Grimaud in the Saint Tropez area in the
campsite « Les Prairies de la Mer », to celebrate the 14th Annual European H.O.G.
Rally.
HOG Europe
has reserved a small part of paradise at the edge of the
sea for all the lovers of Harley-Davidson.

A beautiful brotherly agreement reigned over the site and it
was advised to
speak a little english language to communicate with his neighbours because its mother
language was not necessarily majority, but here no syndrome of the Polish
biker ! « It's surprising, everybody speaks to
others ! » a passer-by dixit. And yes madam, that's right a Harley
rally.

Difficult to summarize 4 days in 4
lines : fashion show, divers groups, parades, games,
guided tours, stunt show, treasure hunt, ride-in bikeshow,
live music, fireworks, disco... The whole with an absolute
safety, an organization without defect and an exemplary
conviviality. A success which will bring it certainly others (as
4
years ago). The
ride-in bikeshow of Friday has taken up the place Neuve of Grimaud. A charming village put on the height of a hill and overhung by a magnificent castle in
ruin. So
many beautiful Harley-Davidson and Buell are presented. Youngs and
senior also are amazed in front of Fishbone, a bike aquarium where two goldfish
play
in the tank. Doubtless a species come from Brittany, been used to oil slicks… |

The
show quickly invaded the tortuous alleys decorated with flowers to distil us
postcard images…
|
|
|
It's also an
only luck to see the monsters of Hardcore or Kodlin on the road, these prestigious motorcycles, that we usually admire
in shows and exhibitions, had abandoned the honors for the
asphalt.
It's beautiful and that
drives ! Everybody can't say about it so much...
The evenings on the
campsite of Port Grimaud are not sad either.

High-quality concerts with J.J. Milteau and its magic harmonica, Little Bob who
doesn't make his 30 years of career, a
French rock legend which we are happy to see on the top and then the killer
: Popa Chubby the famous guitarist who has been also very convincing in
drums.

|
The
Sunday Parade which took the road of the gulf to cross Saint-Tropez, then the road of beaches to join Ramatuelle and the village of Grimaud,
that looked like of the French bicycling race « Le
tour de France » with the supporters massed at the edge of the
road who applaud the impressive pack of H-D.
And then the strolls to Saint Tropez whom we like or whom we hate but we eventually go all there one day
! And what better pretext that European Hog Rally?
On the old
harbour the show is there and everybody is satisfied the curious onlookers as the bikers and it's very well
so!
Finally nothing is more pleasant, when we have to make nothing,
that eating a piece, in the morning in front of the sea... so, to have a drink, in the
sunset, in front of the sea.
